Vincent Roman

September 2008 to Present, I have been working as part of Stink Digital, a startup web production company that is affiliated to one of the top 5 production houses in the world. Projects we have worked on include web property and marketing for Asics' Running, Little Big Planet, Sony Playstation, From The Basement & Live (with Nokia), Contagious Mag and most recently the Philip's Cinema 21:9 film and microsite which won the Stink team and all those who worked on it a Cannes Cyber Lion and Cannes Grand Prix for Film.

Between April 2006 to September 2008, I worked at Last.fm (CBS Interactive). Having started as the 4th member on the web team, I saw the site and team grow exponentially. My role at the company was pivotal in increasing affiliate sales and greasing the wheels of such deals, as well as front & back-end development based on pre-defined spec sheets in an MVC framework using agile and other management techniques.

Prior to that May 2002 to April 2006, I was contracted as a systems architect and developer at the Noerr Programs corporation and was involved in a process that radically changed the company. In the words of the CFO, Philip J. Byrne:

Prior to 2002 I was busy building a freelance business whilst at university, studying in a completely different field of expertise. In addition, I started a hosting business, and built up a client portfolio, and relationships, some of which remain to this day. Projects involved everything from design to development, test ing and search engine marketing.

Tehnical skills and expertise include CSS, XHTML, DHTML, DOM, Javascript and JS libraries (Prototype, JQuery & Scriptaculous), AJAX techniques, data formats (JSON and XML), object-orientated PHP, SQL (MySQL and Postgres), Agile development process (SCRUM), web service APIs, SVN, Trac. Design expertise includes the creation of wireframes from creative requests and their development, understanding and implementation of SEO principles for code and content, user & compatibility testing, Adobe CS3. Beyond this I am capable of working to project and development cycle deadlines on managed or unmanaged projects based on formalised spec sheets and creative requests.
